italian reflections

well ive got a minute before work, and i havent updated this thing in a while, so here i go.

ive not really been up to much lately to speak of. school mostly, it's getting to that point in the semester when im beginning to wonder if at heart all my profs arent sadists (my father included ;-p). all in all im doin alright...it looks like i have a few late nights in my near future, but nothing too bad. after all, im a college student. we're a rare breed of humans that dont sleep.

well since my last entry, ive been to italy! woot! it was AMAZING!! i went with a group from the school, and we had an awesome time. we worked with some missionaries there, one of the guys there is like a big brother to me, so it was great to see him again. we helped put on a children's carnival, which was fun. my partner and i did the little booth where someone sits behind a curtain and the kids go "fishing" and put a fishing line over the curtain, and someone behind it clips a little prize to it. i was the person on the other side of the curtain, and that was fun. in all honesty, not very many kids showed up (tho there were some) so while back there for 3 hours, i took three naps, did a puzzle, and taught myself how to juggle with 2 balls. of course, my partner could have *told* me that there were no kids there, but he was too busy being smitten with another girl on the trip and talking to her. lol. it was all good tho. we spent two days in rome, which was, needless to say, wonderful. we went to the vatican, st peter's, the colluseam, the pantheon, the sistine chaple, the forum, the spanish steps, and trevi fountain. im sure we went and saw other stuff too that im leaving out, but those are most of the big things. trevi fountain was gorgeous, we went at night when it was all lit up. yeah...breathtaking. i fell in love with europe the first time i went over there, but this time i fell in love with italy specifically. it was interesting being there when war broke out, especially cuz in ancona, there were very strong anti-war sentaments, and we werent sure how they would percieve americans, since it wasnt a tourist town at all. in the end it was all good, tho we didnt push our luck by wandering out much when there were peace ralleys going on. everywhere you looked there were these flags with rainbow colors that said "PACE" (pronounced pah-chey), which means peace. at first it was a little nerve-wracking, but by the time we left, we realized that they werent really hostile. ahhh...i could go on and on, but im about to run out of time.

other aspects of life havent been too spectacular really. liz and nathan are back together, and that's interesting. i havent really seen them together yet, as a couple, so it seems kinda odd to me, but yeah. its not really my call ;)

oh and hannah, in responce to what you wrote in your diary. there's nothing going on, liz and i arent upset or anything. if anything, my weirdness is just coming from stress from school, nothing personal at all. i love you girl! :)

ok, tamko is calling, so im out.
